Here’s a little bit about us, our values, and how we work:
Community
We are a community of professionals with lived experience dedicated to cultivating inclusive communities, organizations, environments, and practices for folks with (intellectual + developmental) disabilities. We aim to strengthen the communities we are a part of by embracing diversity and leading with inclusive practices.
Learning
We offer workshops on a wide variety of topics in an effort to build capacity in the disability support sector. We want you to have the knowledge an skills you need to thrive. Many of the workshops we offer have been born of a challenge we have come up against, or a gap in the sector.
We understand the challenges in bridging the gap between having a plan and successfully implementing it in a supportive and person-directed way. Everything we do is grounded in real-world experiences and ensures individuals have Voice, Choice, and Control.
In the spirit of continuous learning and unlearning, we employ and/or consult people with lived experience in all areas of our work. We aim to approach our work through active and continuing process of decolonization. We value a two-eyed seeing approach in this work.
Advocacy
As part of our work in cultivating inclusive communities we take an active role in advocating for change. We aim to do this by amplifying the voices of persons with disabilities and their families.
